A Recap of the LFC Training in Kigali, Rwanda
NNAK is thrilled to share a recent empowering experience – the Leadership for Change (LFC) Training held in Kigali, Rwanda, from March 10th to 15th, 2024, under the ODENNA PROJECT and specifically designed for African NNA’s (National Nurses Associations). This incredible initiative was made possible by the generous sponsorship of the ICN (International Council of Nurses).
The LFC Training brought together a remarkable group of African NNA representatives, fostering a platform for shared knowledge, skill development, and leadership growth. Throughout the week-long program, participants engaged in interactive sessions, workshops, and discussions focused on crucial leadership competencies. These included effective communication, strategic planning, advocacy skills, and fostering collaboration within the nursing community.
The training wasn’t just about acquiring knowledge; it was about creating a powerful network of African leaders in healthcare. The program provided a space for participants to share their unique experiences and challenges faced by NNA’s across the continent. This exchange of perspectives fostered a sense of solidarity and a commitment to work together towards improving healthcare outcomes in Africa.
I am deeply grateful to the ICN for their invaluable sponsorship, which made this impactful training possible. Their support empowers African NNA’s to become strong, effective leaders who can drive positive change within their communities and healthcare systems. The LFC Training has undoubtedly equipped participants with the tools and inspiration to make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of people across Africa.
This is just a starting point. The connections forged and the knowledge gained during the LFC Training will undoubtedly serve as a springboard for continued collaboration and leadership development among African NNA’s. The future of healthcare in Africa is bright, thanks to the dedication and commitment of these remarkable leaders.
