The Secretariat is manned by full time employees. Currently NNAK has six employees.

Standing Committees

For the smooth operation, NNAK is guided by a 3 year strategic plan and has Standing Committees to run the various duties.
Currently there are five standing committees:-

1. Finance Committee
2. Education Committee
3. Research and Publicity
4. Journal / Leadership for change
5. Projects Committee

Other adhoc committees are created by NEC as the need arises. The committee members are nominated by N.E.C. Their term runs annually.

Chapters

Taking cognisance of the various fields nurses operate, NNAK has several chapters to cater for them.
Currently we have:-

3. Nurse Educationist Chapter
4. Peadiatric Nurses Chapter
5. Intensive Care Nurses Chapter
6. Theatre Nurses Chapter
7. Opthalmic Nurses Chapter
8. Midwives Chapter
9. HIV/AIDS Chapter
10. Infection Control Chapter
11. Accident & Emergency Chapter

Interested nurses affiliate themselves to various chapters of interest and pay a minimal fee of Kshs. 500/- P.A. for chapter activities. The chapters have grown in size and several have traditionally held their ASC/AGM annually and have also undertaken several donor funded projects successfully.
